How to brush a cat’s teeth
August 5th, 2007It may sound gross, silly or even dangerous, but brushing your cat’s teeth a few time a week is a good idea. Making sure your kitten or cat has healthy teeth means fewer trips to the vet for expensive professional cleanings. Also, cats are sedated for cleanings, which can be risky. This is a little easier as a two-person job, but one can handle it no problem.
1. Get special toothpaste made for cats (such as C.E.T.)
2. Use a child-size toothbrush or cat toothbrush that fits over your index finger.
3. Make sure cat is in a good mood.
4. Brush front, back and inside, just like a human.
5. Repeat a few times a week.
